Propane cylinder screw type connection

Hi all, I have an old (full) propane cylinder which has a screw type connection.

I would like to use up the gas on my bbq, however the bbq obviously has the push on type regulator on it.

Is it possible to either get a screw on type regulator to fit this cylinder, or else is it possible to get the gas transferred to another empty patio gas cylinder that I have?

Are you sure it not butane ? you will need to get a regulator like this to screw on to your fitting.

Its a 10.88Kg Propane just be aware that barbeques use butane mainly as propane burns hotter you could get a screw on fitting but would cost in the region of 10 - 15 euro so defeats the purpose.

I would try a supplyier and see would they do a straight swap for you if the bottle is full some will accomadate you.

Whatever you do dont try transfer the gas to a different bottle or you may end up blown to heavens

Thanks lads any idea where I could get one of the regulators?

I was told its propane anyway it was used for a felting torch I think.

I'm not sure if a supplier would swap as the cylinder is quite old and not in great shape.

Oh bbq is definitely propane too.

I'd say B&Q or woodies would have them but to tell the truth the fittings on your tank look so bad I would be worried about using it just incase a seal is gone and amy movement could cause it to leak.

Thanks, ill try get to a supplier and see what they can do. If all else fails I might try get the other regulator.
