Has anybody any experience converting an estate such as an a4 avant to commercial? It would be a company car. I have already converted a pajero which was on english plates but is there any difference with estates or can they be done at all?

    Thanks

Yes, can be done. Thread here only a few weeks ago. Did you do the Pajero yourself?

Thanks, ya i welded in the seat mounting bolts, put in some steel plate over the rear footwells and siliconed some aluminium on to the back windows. Had to take it to revenue then. Its the NCT centre who check it now is it? (for english imports)
If im converting an already irish registered car will they look at it in the tax office or is it just at the DOE after?

How much did you pay for the conversion, or did you do it yourself?

diy just blacked out the windows, then put down the rear seat,(it was an estate), not a lot really, ask the council, they will tell you their requirements, a lot will depend on the examiner.

I assume some form of motor related engineer and not one of the lads (or 6 of them) digging holes for sewage pipes? :)
