Ferrycarrig Running Routes

Greetings people of Wexford,
I'm spending a few days at the Ferrycarrig Hotel next week and am wondering if there are any decent running routes around the area? I'd be hoping to run from the hotel and back again, anything between 5-8 miles along road, footpath, etc

Any runners in the area able to reccommend any that they use?

The following route is from a road race out that way in January. You'd probably have to miss out on the run in and out of Ferrycarrig Park, home of Wexford Youths, but as you have to add a bit to-and-from the hotel to join the route its probably still 5 miles-ish.

Otherwise you could leave the hotel and run down towards the Heritage Park, past the park, along by the estuary, then up some country roads, looping back in towards town and running back through two roundabouts to Ferrycarrig? Or run into town, alongside the estuary for a bit, and then back to FC?

I'd have to check the distance on the other suggestions, but i'll see if i can get a garmin/mapmyrun route later!

Druss, that's great thanks very much for that - the route you have there on mapymyrun is perfect, no need to go to any further bother.

If you head towards the river there is are set of steps on right about 50m from the hotel road entrance. This steps will get you off the busy main road nice and quick.

If you follow that route (after you go up the steps) all the way to the end (T junction after about 4 k), take a right back towards the N11 and keep going until you come to a crossroads with a church at it and take a right. Run until you hit another T junction (should look familiar!) and take a left, you'll be back at the steps.

Should be a c. 6mile route with a little elevation thrown in.
