Hi. I'm just wondering if anyone has applied to do a postgraduate course in actuarial science in UCD having completed an undergraduate degree and what background are you from?

Would be great if anyone that knows about the profession shared their knowledge of securing a trainee actuary position and what actuarial employers look for, thanks :)

Bumping this. I'm going into the actuarial diploma in UCD and would love to hear from someone either in the course of profession!

I'm just completing my final year in my actuarial degree at the moment, finish up in May hopefully.

I'm between two minds whether to apply for a graduate scheme for when I qualify or to go on and complete the MSc Actuarial Science in UCD.

I already have 5 exemptions and hopefully with things going right at the end of this year I will gain 3 more.

This would mean I face into a possible masters just focusing on my CA1 exam, which I could complete in that year. Also to factor into it I have a scholarship that will pay for my masters if I complete one.

What do people think? Jump into the working world next year or go do a masters and get my CA1 done.

Eh, according to this website, they aren't giving CA1 exemptions away which makes it totally pointless if you already have the CT exemptions.
