We get loads of Golfinches in our garden and recently we've had a good few juvenile ones frequenting the feeder.
Yesterday a juvenile appeared, but all it does is chirp very loudly/constantly and flap its little wings. Is it still expecting food from its mother?

It hasn't used the feeder at all and just hops around on it chirping at the other birds.
Then unfortunately it flew into the back window, it didn't seem hurt though. Just a bit dazed and it flew off again.

I feel sorry for it because it doesn't seem to really know what to do with itself.

Edit to add the other juveniles are using the feeder and don't seem to have any issues.

Yeah it seems like that one is trying to prompt an adult to feed it alright. Might be the youngest of the bunch perhaps, or just the last one to be weaned from being fed by its parents

That's correct, it is begging for food from it's parents. It will learn to feed itself soon.

Thanks. I'll keep an eye out to see if any of the adults feed it, or if it starts to use the feeder itself.
