Scratch removal

Just to bump this up a bit. My car roof seems to have been "keyed" recently. The scratches go from very deep at the beginning and get lighter 6-8" in towards centre of roof. Turtle Wax Safe Cut sorted the lighter scratches leaving the deeper bits. I've been reading an Auto Express review of touch-up kits and Turtle Wax Color Magic Plus gets 4 stars http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/accessories-tyres/43051/turtle-wax-color-magic-plus and Halford's Chip and Scratch Repair system gets 3. I was looking at the Halford's one on Friday and was going to get it but ironically the wax crayon from Turtle seems to score slightly better. Anybody tried the Halford's one yet or offer advice on removing these deep scratches. Thanks all.

Used it for in the past on a Maroon focus. Great if you're in the habit of using it every day. Utter shyte otherwise.

It's not a full fix but shallow scratches can be polished out to the extent that you can barely detect them. That was demonstrated to me by the nice man from cleancar.ie a few months ago using a dual action polisher.

I was in B&Q and Homebase and was also tempted at giving JML Mantis a try however having read some of the reviews on Amazon I think I'll be giving it a miss. I have had decent results with it on a few cars but there is a lot of work involved in getting it back smooth.
You need to clean out the scratch to remove all polish/wax etc.
I usually mix a small bit of paint and lacquer and then put it on.
    Let harden for 10-15 days.
    Wet sand with 2000-2500 sandpaper.
Polish with a decent cut polish (this is where the dual action comes in handy)
Finishing polish and wax the pannel
