    Hi
Can anyone tell me what TEFL teachers get paid in English language schools in Ireland? I have a brother living in Hungary who works as a TEFL teacher over there. He is considering coming back so I'm trying to find out what work is available and what are the rates of pay.
    Thanks

Does he have an acels qualification?

You can't work as a TEFL teacher in Ireland without one.

Yes he has an ACELS qualification. He worked here 10 years ago but I assume the pay rates have changed along with everything else.

I just did a job search and the only job I could see with a salary was 18 per hour.

Ok thanks for that. I heard it's in the range of 15 to 20 per hour but that was just from one person and I wanted to check before passing on the information. Cheers

Does he have a primary degree? If he doesn't I don't think he can teach in Ireland, even if he has a CELTA etc.

He does. He has taught TEFL here before.

He'll be grand then. I just noticed the title actually....Will he be training TEFL teachers or teaching English? I'm pretty sure TEFL Teacher Trainers get a lot more than 18 euro an hour

Teaching English. I think they used to get a lot more than €18 but I heard it has dropped recently.
