The dentist was fairly rough cleaning my teeth last week the gum had been injected so I could feel her cleaning the teeth quite strenuously ... They needed a god clean ! But since then after I have either a cup of tea ... Or an iced drink ... After a short period of time I get serious pain very sore around the gums ... I try to brush my teeth gently to get some relief ... It's getting worse ... I am now rubbing clove oil.. On now .. I am in a lot of pain .... I don't know if the dentist can do anything to relieve pain? Any suggestion? Will not be continuing the rest of the cleaning its not worth the pain and grief ..

If you needed local anaesthetic to clean your teeth, then most likely you have plaque and calculus in deep pockets under your gums. While this is bad for you and is irritating the gums and causing destruction of the gum and bone supporting your teeth, it strangely is insulating your exposed tooth roots form hot and cold sensitivity.... Therefore when this is removed, you feel sensitivity.....

This sensitivity will settle, the denting tubules will close somewhat, sensitive toothpastes can help...

You should carry on with your treatment, saying that it is not worth the pain and grief implies that it is not necessary... The plaque and calculus will cause loss of the supporting structures of the teeth, gum disease...loss of teeth.....

Thks if I could get a remedy to deal with the pain I will continue .... 6 or 8 tramil and a mouth full of clove oil daily is not ideal for normal living !! Not healthy either 😄

Dentist 90 per cent sure bottom tooth causing the problem ... I was Unsure When I said i would be seriously annoyed if that 10 % margin of error .. Resulted in continuing pain and wrong tooth .... She double checked with some sort of vibrating probe , put on each tooth ... Which then revealed that it was more likely a tooth opposite in upper part of mouth was the likely culprit ... !!! Now told it may need root canal ... Seriously people ... Just because these people have " doctor" in their title ... Don't take it as a given that they are infallible !
Anyone recommend good dentist near Enfield ... Pm pls ... Thks
