    What is the best way getting to Athlone from Cork using public transport?

    There used to be a bus to Portlaoise & then a bus to Athlone but that stopped... Its a completed pain in the ass now... Train to Portlaoise costs a fortune but might be your best bet... If not but to Limerick & then change to Athlone :/

    If the X8 stops in Portlaoise and then get the 73 as far as Moate, maybe?
