Hi all, just need a little advice here. I have searched the forum and a couple of threads seem similar to the problem I'm having but I'm no mechanic and wanted to double check to be on the safe side.
I recently got my car back from a local garage and I thought the clutch seemed funny. The pedal had to be pushed down very far to change gear. I had not been driving it for about a week so assumed it was my imagination.

Four days later the car was very hard to change gear. Any gear required a lot of force to engage. This lasted around 15 mins till i got home. trying to reverse into the garden Sprained my wrist from the effort of putting it in reverse !

After searching here and checking google there seems to be a variety of possible answers. I rang the garage and as soon as I said I could not get into gear he said new clutch and i think he said flywheel bearing.

roughly 1000 euro to fix.

Having checked the threads I tried changing gear with the engine off and that worked no problem, as soon as i started the engine the car tried to move with the clutch pedal pressed the whole way to the floor.

only the hand break would stop it.

    So my questions:
    is it the clutch?
does the flywheel bearing need to be changed at the same time?
is the garage right about the cost?

advice would be very welcome about now.
