Hi, I have a tooth that has to come out. It has wakened me every night at least once for the last week.
My worry is that I have been drinking heavily for last 10 years and somebody told me that alcoholics have high tolerance for drugs so normal dose of anaesthetic may not work.
Does anyone know if it is true?
True or not should I tell my dentist about my drinking for any reason?
    Thank you.

Your dentist will still be able to get you numb dont worry. Tell you dentit about your drinking but it will not effect treatment. Go to a GP about the drinking and get some help.

Your dentist can still get you numb....

Excessive drinking can cause liver problems among others, liver problems can cause excessive post op bleeding....

Definitely let your dentist know and get yourself checked out if you have any concerns. As said before, try to sort out the drinking, all the best
