    That movie that was released just this year, Gangster Squad was set in 1949. Just one year off of 1950 but i'll put that down anyway.

    Days of Wine and Roses. It's one of the few Hollywood films which deal with social problems in the 1950s, in this case the descent into alcoholism by an ambitious, upwardly-mobile couple.

    Don't think the Untouchables was set in 1950. It was set during the Prohibition Era. Capone would have been dead by then anyway.

    Walk Hard, Dewey Cox Story, Piss take of the above, very funny.

    Edit: scrap that. The Wanderers is based in the early 1960's. Still good music though and some interesting take on early NY gangs (note the Irish Ducky Boys gang).
