Going to drop the wife and kids in Kildare Village tomorrow and take a spin over the Wicklow mountains so looking for some advice on my route. Thinking of driving on to Ballymore Eustace and doing something like this

Looks the most straight forward but I'm afraid I'm missing some good climbs. Despite the fact I lived in Dublin for over ten years my knowledge of the mountains is dire beyond driving to Johnny Foxes and Glendalough.

Any better routes 80-100K the more climbing the better? Nothing to convoluted though. Will drive a bit further if there's a better spot to park up.

sally gap or wicklow gap, in this weather they look amazing too, and about 20k of climbing on and off, from 1% - 10% with some descents too

Ballymore out to Hollywood and up the road to the Wicklow gap then down past glendalough into laragh, you could do the sally gap then back down towards blessington.

    About 80k I'd say

From just south of Kildare town to Laragh and back via Wicklow Gap was 110km for me. And route from Kildare into Wicklow is a bit complicated.

I'd advise driving to Ballymore Eustace or Hollywood and starting from there.

Op, can't see your link but you have lots of choices from Kildare.

If you just want climbing then as sbs says driving over closer to Wicklow might be a good idea, I did this just before the WW200, you could adabpt it a bit by going up the Glenmacanass to the Sally Gap and back via the lakes.

The spin across from Kildare to Wicklow is nice at this time of the year though, some lovely rolling countryside so something like this (starting from Kildare ovbiously) might work for you either.

EDIT: The road from ballymany to Kilcullen can be busy on a Sunday, not particularly nice for cycling, the route below is a better quieter alternative.

Curragh - Kilcullen - Hollywood - Laragh is a nice spin
