Are they in financial difficulty though?

If so, I wouldn't like to give them anyway deposit.

If they were in financial difficulty I definitely wouldn't give them a deposit of any kind, wedding insurance wouldn't even cover it because they were in difficulty before the policy was taken out.

My ideal venue was in receivership and for that reason we didn't go with them. We got the line from the wedding planner "Oh well I'll get the owner to write a letter stating that nothing will happen before the wedding", yeah and what good is a letter to me if you close up shop the week before my wedding?! No chance I'd give a deposit to a hotel in difficulty no matter how hard they tried to sell it or how great it was.

I pass this place a lot and always think it looks really nice - in a rambling shabby chic country house type of hotel.

    Hi,

I actually live in the area and have been in the hotel on several occasions. It is a wonderful hotel and although I've never attended a wedding reception there, anytime I've been there I've really enjoyed myself! The staff are lovely (I personally know a lot of people who work there). I know that the hotel used to be in difficulty a couple of years ago, I'm not sure if that's still the case though as it was taken over by new management a few years ago.
