I've four of them, the Galaxy Class, the Shuttle, a Warbird & Bird of Prey. My younger self did think it'd be cool to take a magnifying glass to them in direct sunlight, to 'simulate' battle damage though

Maybe they were pulling metal of the hull to sell on while the Borg were busy fighting the federation.

You can get get them easily on eBay. Just type in "Star Trek Micro Machines". The complete sets are pricey, though.
