Right, apologies if this is the wrong section.

Alright well to make it short and easy, I'm from Sweden who've just recently got a job offer by CPL to work in a desk called Pfizer in Leixlip (HP).
I got a few questions regarding CPL since I'm not Irish nor do I live there.

Is the company itself any good?
    Good work station?
Is the salary top notch(20500 euro yearly) or is it just a rip off?

    Oh also,
    Good recommendation regarding apartment letting?
    (Possibly Off topic).
Thanks for any reply I can get!

My missus works there in fact she probably hired you...

Cpl in hp leixlip is a pretty poor place to work. The company do the bare minimum I.e the legal mimimum.. no sick pay no benefits at all. The mony is quite low too compared to similiar employers

I haven't seen the contract but the benefits they offer you regarding health care does seem pretty good as in my opinion gives me a + in my CV but do you have any proof regarding its a poor place to work at? Of course 1300~ euro per month is quite low to live off but I'd accept that due of me not having any past experience more than "off" the boat (school and hobby).

Thats not healthcare. Its 3 visits to a doctor per year that they contribute €30 each time, it doesn't even cover the cost of the doctor. Health insurance in ireland can cost thousands per year so dont be fooled. Cpl dont pay for sick leave. They give the legal minimum holidays per year.

Nordics are paid more here because of supply and demand... you get 20.5kpa and after tax its €1600pm.

The pfizer desk is extremely busy and pressurized. Its a poor working enviroment and they are downsizing the leixlip branch too and moving jobs to budapest and elsewhere.

If you actually want advice then take it off someone who works there and look elsewhere, google ebay Facebook paypal symantec twitter a lot of well known companies have european bases in dublin and would be actively seeking nordic languages.

So its really that ****ty? I'm getting more un-sure regarding it.. Even though its a plus for my CV since in Sweden its really hard to get work with no experience..
Thanks for the words, I'll sit down and discuss about it with myself.

If its your first job then take it and see for yourself. You can always move elsewhere in dublin once you have some experience of call centers.

I dont mean to stop you or anything but its an honest opinion of cpl which is what you asked for.

    This.

If you want to move to Ireland, then a good-enough job will do to start with. You can move to a better one in 6-12 months.

The salary isn't high - but you'll be paying almost no tax on it. When you fill in your Form 12a from Revenue, make sure you say that you're planning to stay here for at least 12 months, this will make sure that your tax for this year is correct.

You will need to share an apartment, because you won't be able to afford to live alone. But that's not a bad thing if you're moving to a new country.

All I have to say is that they have a really high turnover. I don't really tend to recognize people past a couple of weeks.

Well, To be honest its my first time job as this is a experience giving which I need.

I wouldn't say that CPL is a bad place to work. It's a great place to gain experience in and then move on especially if you want to work with the likes of Google, linked in, Symantec etc. Most staff would stay for about a year and move on. I think they know that their salaries are a bit low but that's their target audience. And their training seems to be sought after in the Market. I was asked in an interview if I had 6 months CPL experience by the recruiter for example.

Why? Have you got a better job offer elsewhere? Do you have some concerns that experience with a large company wouldn't be good for you???

Yes, as a matter of fact I do. 19 grand a year customer care role non tech desk after a 4 year degree in IT and 2 paid internships in software seems like a step back after reading all these horror stories here

    Take it and keep looking.
Often easier to get a job when you have a job.
Although you might feel undervalued etc that big company experience will stand to you.
