I do love my SyFy garbage and I have been waiting for a movie of this caliber since "sand sharks". You know the one: where sharks have evolved to swim in sand.....

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,503 ✭✭✭✭Also Starring LeVar Burton

I just watched the whole movie...

How can I put this, probably one of the worst films I've ever seen, but instantly one of my all-time favourites... It's phenominally bad and therefore epically brilliant...

Can't wait for the DVD and the t-shirts... Dear God, I hope there'll be t-shirts!!!

    I cannot wait for this.

watched it last night. Its incredible, id say they filmed the whole thing in a day. Every scene looks like it was done in one take.

    The ending, wow!

Blast Vegas is scheduled for the same slot this week, and looks to be equally, ...erm, 'good' :D

Yeah, I said "No f**king way* out loud at that slow motion jump. Has to be seen to be believed.

The continuity was all over the place. At the start on the beach, storm clouds were coming, then blue skies, then storm clouds, then blue skies.

Later in the tunnel, the tunnel was flooded, then it wasn't, then it was, then it wasn't, then it was.

    Fun movie though. :)

A very excited american told me to watch this with a sort of crazed glee that I find promising.

Stupidly bad films like The Room and Birdemic are favourites of mine so I think I'll like this.

    Plus, who doesn't love sharks?

Best reinterpretation of Quint's Indianapolis monologue EVER!!! :D

That trailer looks woeful! I so want to watch the film now :)

I'd love if they made Catacopter; a helicopter made entirely out of cats.

Did anyone catch the homage to JAWS?

"We're gonna need a bigger chopper".

    I bet that wasn't ad-libbed.

I love legitimately bad movies, but SyFy are no doubt intentionally making these films as bad as possible, which removes a lot of the majesty of a terrible film.

I watched it last night. Great 'bad' file!

Apparently a sequel has been approved.

Looking at the trailer I noticed one of those "Oh it's that guy", you know an actor who shows up all over the place.

In this case I always thought his name was John Heard, not to be mistaken with John Hurt.

Wondering what he was doing in this pile of crap I looked up his IMDB profile.

Some of his lighter appearences, such as BIG and Home Alone, were listed but not some of the more recent films I've seen him in. Robin Hood, A History of Violence or The Village.

Turns out that was William Hurt. I always though he and John Heard were the same actor! :o

Turns out it's a common mistake, William Hurt => John Hurt => John Heard

It seems both were recently in Too Big To Fail, a movie which would have caused my head to explode if I'd watched it!

This has just reminded me of MegaPython with Tiffany & Debbie Gibson, amongst immortal lines uttered were "i think we're alone now"
    :)

For anybody who LOVES so-bad-it's-good movies, I highly recommend the How Did This Get Made podcast. They made an emergency, not as scheduled podcast episode just for Sharknado last tuesday and it's hilarious! Scott Aukerman guests. You know the movie's so bad when you start a sentence with "at least in birdemic,..."

Apparently a sequel has been approved.

Jedward have announced they'll be starring Sharknado 2. Honestly, although Tara Reid is now saying that that has not been finalised. Jedward vs Sharknado, is this inspired casting or just 'jumping the shark(nado)'

Made the mistake of watching this, it's embarrassingly bad. And not in a 'so good, it's bad' way, just in a 'it's god-awful' way.

While we're discussing masterpiece fish theatre here's another one coming our way soon - Ghost Shark. Don't believe me - check out the link.

Just saw the post that it was on now. Other things recording but I see it's repeated tomorrow.

I missed PiranhaConda, it was on Mon nite, sequel to Sharktopus yet to see that one.
Strangely enough when Sharknado premiered on SYFY a month ago, it just so happened it was Shark week on NatGeoWild, one prog amongst many was Shocking Sharks :P

Actually on checking, its actually on now on syfy, & on Fri at a reasonable time:

    Time - 21:00 to 22:50 (1 hour and 50 minutes long).
When - Friday 6th September on SyFy HD

However, the criminals' plans come unstuck when it becomes clear the team was also being pursued by a pair of vicious pair of half-piranha, half-snake monsters, killers at home on land and in the water. The sequel to tongue-in-cheek horror thriller Sharktopus.
