Hi, I have a question about the BEA allowance. I am not on an age-related social welfare payment. Im in receipt of €188 per week and have applied for BEA for my course which starts in September.

As a new applicant, will my Back to Education allowance be €160 per week or would I continue to get €188?

    Any help would be great
    Thanks

Sorry to hijack the thread, mango salsa. Just a quick question.

I noticed new applicants under the age of 25 are getting €160 from this year.

I'm just wondering, if I did a fetac course during the 12/13 year whilst receiving BTEA and progress into a level 7/8 course for the 13/14 year, would I be considered a new applicant because I'm progressing into a new course or will I be deemed as an existent applicant? Thanks for any help..
