Donor option/ new driving licence

    Anyone know if the swop your old type licence for the new one for free if you agree to opt for organ donation is still on!?

    If I remember right, the last few posts were that due to the volume of requests they received, they were now charging for this.

    But requesting a new license with a change of address is still free I gather - it doesn't extend the term though (so if your license expires 2015, the new one will too)

    that's kind of sad. i know a lot of people jumped on the bandwagon for a freebie license but wasn't it a great incentive to get many many much needed donors at little cost to the government.

    just phoned motor tax office and they said that it was never an option.... never existed.....

    Where on the new driving licence does it say you are a donor? I have received my learners permit and just want to make sure it is on there.

    Off topic slightly but what payments are accepted for new license fee? P/O ? Debit card? I remember trying to find the info on their site a few weeks back and failed.

    Was in tax office today, and as per boards thread that if you are an organ donor the exchange is free. Not at all. I paid 35€ and was also told there was never a free exchange for organ donors. ?? was this an internet waffle or what?
