    Hi!
I wanted to surprise my other half with tickets to the Cheltenham festival 2014. But I have a few queries i would REALLY appreciate help with!

    1) how do i go about buying tickets to all four days of the festival? From what I see you can only purchase tickets to one day per ticket

    2)What stands would be best?

3)do I have to be a member to purchase tickets?

Thank you so much in advance I actually have no idea and obviously cannot ask the other half. I am not going to get him flights etc because he is going with friends so I will let him sort that out himself, just thought it would be nice to get the tickets for him as it's his birthday.

    thanks SO much again!

Might be best to ask the friends or at least have an idea of their ticket budgets so he doesn't end up with tickets to a different stand.

I was sure on the website you could buy 2 day tickets a year or 3 ago.
Personally club enclosure is where id want to be but if tatersalls tickets were given to me id be a happy
    Man.
4 days is a long stretch at Cheltenham, for any kind of a race goer. You'd need deep pockets number 1 and have the stamina of an athlete and an alcoholic to cover the walking and drinking.. Has he ever gone 4 days before and is he loaded?

This is a good point. You really have no idea how they're going to go about it. They might want go to the expensive part (club) some days, while go cheap and focus on the bar others. As someone said, the festival is a marathon and plenty of groups take one day off (likely thursday) to enjoy the racing in a pub downtown. Long shot, but if he's under 25 you could get year membership for £195 which would be an amazing present, getting him access to the best enclosure at every Cheltenham meeting

The best option would be to buy him Tatterstalls tickets. They are the standard enclosure with access to grandstand and parade ring.

He will then also have the option of upgrading to the club enclosure on the day if they go there.

If they go on the cheap option and head to the Best Mate enclosure he will be able to swap his tickets no problem on the day.

    Great idea.

    1. You have to buy the tickets individually for the 4 days, there is no 'four day pass'. The tickets are slightly cheaper if bought before december

    2. Tattersalls is standard admission. Club is one above that and admits to the club enclosure but is about £30 dearer. I usually go on the tuesday, wednedsay and thursday, and get club for the tuesday and wednesday and tatts for the thursday. I avoid gold cup day (friday) as its chaos and too packed. Tatts is grand, but it all comes down to cost.

    3. You do not have to become a member to buy tickets, just register on line and buy.

Your husband or boyfiend will really love it. Make sure you can sort out acccomodation as well, hotels are very expensive but b&b's and private guesthouses can be got for around £50 per nigh.

    Fair play to you!

We stayed in the Holiday Inn last year. Great location as you could walk to the racecourse or the town center.
They have really upped the prices for next year though.
