    Hi,

I am going to be buying a new laptop next month but I can't seem to find what I want.

I need the smallest form factor I can get (15.6" is alright). I would be looking for something with a quad core cpu (i7 or similar) and a dedicated GPU to run some games (they are not power hungry).

My budget is about €750 tops.

    Regards.

being a bit hopeful. An i5 will do grand.

you won't get the quad core in stores yet... as they'll be trying to get rid of old stock.

3rd gen is still good though. Like media said and I5/I7-3XXX (the 3 stands for third gen) will do you fine.

But if you're able to push your price a little.
€835 11.6, if you want small

or this is lower 15.6 inch , it'll only handle light/low end gaming though. .. But you have spare cash to upgrade the graphics to (Nvidia 635..not all that great really) or an SSD (which is much much faster than standard harddrives.)

Inferno Series: 11.6" Matte HD LED Widescreen (1366x768)
    Intel® Core™i7 Quad Core Mobile Processor i7-3630QM (2.40GHz) 6MB
    8GB SAMSUNG 1333MHz SODIMM DDR3 MEMORY (1 x 8GB)
    NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 650M - 2.0GB DDR3 Video RAM - DirectX® 11
500GB SERIAL ATA II 2.5" HARD DRIVE WITH 8MB CACHE (5,400rpm)

    €752.00 inc VAT and Delivery.

I configured this Inferno 11.6" laptop on there, what do you think?

Well it should be alright as I'm using a 10.1" netbook at the moment with and AMD C-50 in it and 4 GB RAM. I'd like to keep this one but the CPU bottlenecks badly in games :D

    what kind of games? .
. as even that 11inch won't play them much above medium settings( which is normally good enough) ..and low settings for 'heavy usage' games. (Still having decent framerates that is)

Mind you..I was very tempted for the 11inch myself XD .. handy travelling pc..with decent enough gaming abilities.

Just make sure you include the artic compound, it'll help a lil keeping the pc cool.

And consider an SSD, they are very fast and emit no heat. (not that a HDD emits much anyway but ..on something that small..every little bit will be noticeable.)

I have an SSD in my current netbook so I'd swap them around anyway.

Would there be anything similar for a similar price but a bigger form factor? I really don't want to have a 17" laptop but 15.6" would be okay

yeah, pc specialist have a nice selection of 15.6" laptops, with similar specs, check out the "intensive use" ones. And you can then customise it as needed.
