Stay well clear of them. There hard on fuel and I know of 1 that the engine went in at 3.5k hours and it wasn't down to poor maintenance or abuse as it is very well minded.
They are not holding there value as good as they used to either as they did in the past.

30 series deeres are a lottery, some are brilliant others headgaskets, turbos, crankshaft, injectors due to fuel and blocking egr valves are considered regularly serviced items. Check out a T6030 nh

My friend 6430 is costing him alot to keep going and i say it will be getting the P45 shortly.
It is a lovely tractor to drive and work but he has lost all faith in John Deere over it.

Well from looking around my area now with a good mix of tillage and arable farming I notice that very few guys are running John Deere's now due high running costs and poor reliability.
Newholland and Case seem to be very popular in the area and guys seem happy with them.

The new Deutz TTV seem to be getting good reviews on the UK fourms. I think they are back using the ZF gearboxs and backends.

One of these adds is 45 days old and it has'd been sold yet. Is he having trouble off loading it. I would like to know if it is been upgraded for a John Deere or another make.

well there both in john deere dealerships so i would presume they were traded in for newer ones!!

take the 08 one for example 6 years old 5500 hrs 30 % front tyres for €52000 and there not holding there value:confused:

im well aware for you ask for and what you get will be two diffrent things but as i said be them good or bad you will not get a "premium" brand for small money in the majority of cases!!

Theres a 6330 where I work and its a good tractor for what it does topping, bedding etc. It has over 5000hrs on it and apart from servicing nothing touched on it

Main gripes I have with it are
    - heavy on Diesel
    - When backing a trailer into a tight space or into an implement the 4 wd drive comes on if you touch the brakes and when it comes off it lets a big judd a bit annoying
    - Lock is crap on it with a loader in a tight space

    Plus's
    - Nice to drive in field
    - powerful nice poke in it even with 10 tonne of grain taking off

the suspension is would be a nice feature

What are the main jobs that the tractor will do?

Our New Holland does the same - It is much more noticeable if you are for instance turning into a gateway of the road with a bit of speed - touch the brakes as you are turning the wheel and they is a big jud - annoys the hell out of me

Mixed views here on the 6430 ....It would mainly be used for lifting grass with a jf900 in summer 200 acres and mixing slurry diet feeding and a host of other jobs we have a jd 6400 now for years and its been perfect never gave a days trouble except doing up the diesel pump, and its very easy on diesel ....

'08 JD 6230 here with over 11,000hrs on it.
New exhaust at around 9,000hrs and that's it.
They're sensitive to dirty diesel too but after that ours has been faultless.

Same tractor as the 6430, just different engine management system and maybe a bigger turbo.
With cab and front suspension, very nice place to work.

That serious hours up on that tractor. Had you ever to do the breaks on it?
Your doing nearly 2k hours per year. What kind of work is it doing??

Mainly slurry, topping, fert, haulage and diet feeding in the Winter.
And a few odd jobs every now and then like dumper work, land leveling, rolling, etc.
She was the main tractor up until last Summer so she was doing everything on the farm.

Brakes haven't been done yet, no. Still has her original tyres!

The brother drives it 90% of the time and he'd be very good to mind a machine in fairness to him.

Forgot to say earlier its had a new water pump aswell.

Yeah, maybe the tyre fairies came along a few years ago and put a new set on without me noticing :P

Why would I bother spoofing about that?

The tyres have been bad since about 9k hrs but it was heading into Winter '12 so she was just going to be in the yard. By Summer '13 she was no longer the main tractor so no need for a new set on her then cos all she's done since is potter around on concrete with a diet feeder.

What make are these tires cause I am going to get a set for my own tractor.
