    Hi.
I'm having a problem with a magic eye and I was hoping that someone might have some thoughts on the matter.
I have a Sky+ box in the sitting room and I have a magic eye operating from it for the telly in the bedroom directly over the sitting room.
Recently I've noticed that the Sky remote will not operate. I've tried changing the remote and the Magic Eye but it doesn't make any difference.
He strange thing is that it seems to be an intermittent problem. It can be fine for a couple of weeks but then I can switch on the telly and I can't operate the Sky+ box. I've no issue at all in the sitting room which would make you think it is a faulty Magic Eye but changing it made no difference.
    Many thanks !

When the problem arises, check that the eye is still receiving power. If power isn't the problem, try moving the eye away from the tv, as interference radiated by the tv can sometimes cause problems.

The latter worked for another poster here a while back.

Is the sun blasting in the front window onto the Sky box when it stops working?

I have found that my "magic eye" via a video sender can miss some commands if the Sky receiver gets blasted directly by sunlight. But if I go down to the sitting room and point the remote directly at the Sky box it will work.

A cushion or a piece of cardboard will help if that's the case. Or draw the blinds. ;)

Replace the EM34, it's worn out

What do you mean it's not that kind of Magic Eye?

Wow, Watty, you're showing your age!
You brought back fond memories of tuning in Radio Peking, Voice of America, etc.

    Anyway, back on topic.... http://www.The-Cool-Book-shop.co.uk/satellite_freeview.htm#magic
