Anyone else having problems with a strict NAT?
    Anyone have any solutions?

What do you have the strict NAT on? PS3/Xbox/PC/Specific title? Could be anything but I doubt its the eFibre connection itself causing it.

Everything. Looks like everything is required to have ports individually forwarded. UPNP enabled or disabled makes no difference.

Try disable IPv6 and see what happens.

Is the encapsulation on the VDSL connection set to IPoE? Have a look around in the VDSL settings and the routing menu for NAT passthrough. I disabled all firewalls and security on my Zyxel as I bridged it to a different router straight away to avoid NAT issues.

Encapsulation is set IPoE. Is that a good or bad thing?

That's the way its supposed to be set up yeah. I dunno then try messing around with the security settings, they might be restricting ports.

the firewall on the modem has to be set to low for port forwarding and upnp to work

I've set the firewall to it's lowest and upnp is enabled. NAT issue seems to have disappeared. I had done both of these things before and it made no difference.

There aren't a lot of vdsl routers on Amazon and other places. Before vdsl I had to buy a Microsoft Compatible modem router to solve my Nat issues. Xbox 360 support sent me in this direction due to needing their standards of uPnP to solve Nat with 2 xbox on same network.

I'm wondering if any vdsl routers can do what I need.

Does anyone know if the routing on the vdsl could be turned off and connect a second router to handle the important stuff?

how to port forward on a zyxel f1000

    log onto fibre modem

on main status screen click on list view

click on the device you want to port forward to

    check the reserve ip box

    then

go to network settings > qos > class setup

    modify rtsp

set interface from lan to local

    click apply

    then modify default queue

first correct the queue name from defualt to default

then change interface from lan to local

    click apply

go to network settings > home networking

    look for lan mode setup

change ipv6 state from enabled to disable

    click apply

then go to network settings> broadband

click on modify (ethwan) set ipv6/ipv4 to ipv4 only

    click apply

then go to network settings> broadband

click on modify (vdsl) set ipv6/ipv4 to ipv4 only
    click apply

your modem will drop connection and reconnect with ipv6 disabled

now you are ready to port forward (rince and repeat the below steps for each n every port forward you need to do)

go to network settings > nat

    add new rule

set start port to the port number you require
set end port to the number you require

do the same for start trigger and end trigger ports

enter ip address of the computer requiring the port forward

leave server address empty (it will auto populate)

check the active rule tick box to apply the rule

click apply to save the settings

    Hi,
I used tips given by Freddy Smelly (see above) to do port forward and applied changes as per post in different thread by diarmaidol:
Network Setting > Qos > Class Setup
Edit the Default Classifier , in "Step 3" set vlanID to "Unchange" from 10
Now , at this point DNS on the router breaks ... instead of trying to fix this is easier for me at least to just use a different DNS server.
Network Setting > Home Network > LAN Setup
DNS Values : change this to From ISP , or static if you want to roll with different DNS.
At this point you should have full function bridging between wireless and wired LAN's and all devices should be able to connect to the Internet.

After making changes mention above I can use smartphone apps to see and control functionality of both my AV receiver and Satellite receiver which are connected with router over ethernet cable. All working properly including streaming channels from satellite receiver to PC and Smartphone within home network. (I have a satellite receiver operating on Enigma2).
After port forwarding I have access to receiver being away from home. One thing which is not working is streaming when away!. Do you have any idea why? Upload speed of 6-8 Mbps should allow to stream over internet...

Firewall is disabled. Appreciate your help. Thanks

In VCL I am getting error:
    Your input can't be opened:
VLC is unable to open the MRL 'http://myURL:8001/1:0:1:13ED:5DC:13E:820000:0:0:0:'. Check the log for details.
