In my early college days it was pretty religiously Monday, Wednesday and often Thursday. Drink would be had on the weekend but rarely out to town as it was too expensive for us at the weekends!

    8 nights a week, lad.

I also hold a degree in Mathematics.

None of the above is true.

In my case it depended on the time of year. Post easter I would only go out once a week but in the first two terms I would have been out three or four nights a week.
Not always to the pub or club, but out and about.

The whole week becomes 1 long night. So I picked 1.

Once every couple of weeks. Couldn't really afford it. Had way more nights drinking in at peoples houses.

Im guessing the OP just finished his leaving cert and is trying to gauge what 'cool' is for his first year of Basket weaving :P

Went out maybe once a week, sometimes twice but very rarely.

There were people in my class that went out almost every night, but they got fewer and fewer as the years went on because they dropped out or failed.

I forgot to add a "0" option in the poll so could one of the Mods get Gordan or DeVore to come over here and add it in, thanks.

0 people would have picked it anyway so relax. :pac:

There was a guy in my class that did that got the best marks in the class. He brought in homemade lunch too
And it was not an easy course

Sounds like he had a main course by the sounds of it.

A friend of mine, during his 5th year of a 3 year degree, told me I wasted my college years by not going out 4 nights a week. Apparently getting a degree is a wasteful outcome of going to college. I went out at the weekends or if there was some event (class night out type thing) but I wouldn't really have gone out midweek and definitely wouldn't have made a habit of it.

I genuinely think a few people would have selected it and it's important that this poll is as accurate as possible.

So, if one of the Moderators could go and get Gordan or Zaph then I would really appreciate it, thanks.

I'm hoping I got enough points for basket weaving, Keith. But I'm not too sure, the points are very high. Fingers crossed.

I'm sorry, Gordon or Zaph are far too important for that kinda thing.

I was sent for instead. :/

Well I'm out properly every Tuesday and Thursday. Without fail for one whole year so far. Bring on three more years :P Late bar monday night most weeks. Then pints wednesday. I go back home on Friday so it's rare I'd go out that night. If I stayed up though I'd possibly be out Friday and definitely Saturday.

I picked 4 as I'd say it's the average over the two semesters. But I'd go clubbing maybe 3 nights...more depending on the week and the cashflow.

If the pissheads I had to suffer living with or near died tomorrow it would be a great day for society. Useless pricks all of them. 1 of them was on his 3rd attempt to pass first year in LIT, the biggest clown college in the country.

Voting will conclude when 100 votes have been cast.

What if it doesnt get to 100? Gonna quit college and go on the dole?

I have friends who pretty much session every night, I just can't do it. Wed, Thurs, Fri and Sat are session days for me, the other three are completely teetotal days, no drink whatsoever and some attempt to get a reasonable amount of sleep :p

depends what year...first year I played loads of sport but also went out three nights a week. Second year I met a boyfriend so had a nice reason to stay in but still went out about once every week. Third year, really tough year in my course so probably realistically went out properly once per month and then fourth year...did nothing...except birthdays. Was working in a bar tho so often had a session after work till 5am at the weekend.

    Results (using 100 people)
    Mean- 2.21
    Mode- 2
    Median- 2

The results are fairly conclusive, the vast majority of people go out 1-3 times per week, with 2 days being the average number of nights out had weekly.

I'd like to thank Mickey Dolenz who helped out with the poll, also, a big shout out to Keith who entertained us all with his cunning wit and good humour.

Second year engineering doesnt give me much time (

I managed to go out on average probably twice a month, sometimes went three months without going out. You must all have mickey mouse degrees! :P
