Square Axle is it? either way You need to inspect the braking system. I would Say brakes are metel to metal and need replacing. not something you want to hang around on.

with the round axle 165, you will be cured for ever from growling brakes. In fact, you will be cured for ever from any kind of brakes!

Depends what You use the tractor for! if You only use it for light work ie, Feedin, transport box work, topping ,Bog. round axle perfect.

The Square axle makes stupid money!

Round axle can be converted to square axle handy enough.

But why go to the bother, when you already have a square axle tractor? Fix the brakes on what you have.

I know what You mean. if it was me, I would keep what he has!

I am just Saying what options are available to him, maybe he has a soft spot for the 165!!

    Cheers.
