insurance paid in full

    Say you have your car insurance paid in full and you haven't used the car since it insured at the being of the year. Do you have to tell the insurances company.

    no you don't as the cover is still in place. If you wanted to postpone the cover for period that you would have to.

    If you cancel the policy you get your money back. If you postpone I think it just sort of puts it on hold.

    some companies will postpone for some time so you have no cover but you would have to do it in advance. You will not get any money back for that. If you cancel they will give you some of the money back.

    You won't get all your money back though, they will refund a percentage based on the length of time left on the policy minus an administration fee.

    Sorry, yes, obviously you wouldnt get a full refund. I didnt think that needed to be pointed out!
