    get a shotgun mate

I know getting one in about 6 months ... 16 and just got the air rifle recently asking for a shotgun too soon might ruin my chances.Air rifles can be used for decoying ive seen youtube videos and its pretty effective! :)

For sitting birds yeah but you'll get way better sport with a shotgun, IMO too dangerous with .22

It would be in a field just like shooting rabbits im not going to be firing it into the air or anything! The range on a spring .22 gun isnt alot but i always make sure i have a safe backstop!

Shotgun is the way to do if your going to be decoying. With an air rifle you are going to need the birds to either land in a tree nearby which is going to be difficulty as they will want to hover round to see what food the decoys are feasting in and also where to land. If they land in trees then they probably wont present a proper shot for you. You would have to try get them to land around the decoys which also presents problems. Its just a difficult set up with an air rifle :p
