I was told I can make a very basic gaming PC for roughly that price... The only two games I play are San Andreas Multiplayer and League of Legends... But I need to be able to Skype while using them?

    1. What is your budget? 300-350

    2. What will be the main purpose of the computer? League of Legends and Skyping at the same time

    3. Do you need a copy of Windows? Yes

    4. Can you use any parts from an old computer? Nope

    5. Do you need a monitor? No

5a. If yes, what size do you need. N/A

5b. If no, what resolution is your current monitor and do you plan to upgrade in the near future? 1920x1080

    6. Do you need any of these peripherals? Nope

    7. Are you willing to try overclocking? Only if extremely necessary

    8. How can you pay? Credit card or cash

    9. When are you purchasing? Next week, if this build is possible

    10. If you need help building it, where are you based? Athlone, and I probably would but isn't there a build option on hardwareversand that I could use?

It can just about be done.

    Item|Price
    LiteOn iHAS124-04 schwarz SATA|€16.36
    4GB G.Skill RipJaws PC3-12800U CL9|€32.38
    Corsair VS Serie VS350, Non-Modular, 80+|€30.29
    Sharkoon VS3-Standard Chrom, ohne Netzteil|€21.63
    Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit (SB-Version)|€80.79
AMD A6 5400K Black Edition mit AMD Radeon HD 7540D Grafikeinheit, Box, FM2|€53.81
    MSI FM2-A75MA-P33, FM2, mATX|€47.49
    Seagate Spinpoint HD502HJ 500GB SATA II|€44.31
    Shipping|€18.99
    Total|€346.05

Now this'll run the games, I reckon. There's videos on youtube with people playing GTA 4 on it (the 5400K) and the requirements are fairly low for league of legends. I can't say that it'll be a "gaming" machine though.
Do you need a DVD drive? If that was cut out, you could get faster RAM (which will make a difference to graphics here) and a bigger, faster hard drive. Or a faster APU. Any chance that you can source windows cheaper yourself? Oh, and Windows 8 is the same price, if you prefer that instead. You could actually save a fiver by getting the German version and using an English disc. Here's some faster RAM if you decide to do that.

Also that case looks fairly basic. I don't know much about it apart from it being cheap and having one fan in it.

Hardwareversand use bank transfers - no credit cards. Or paypal with 3% extra or something.

Try save for another month or so if its only for gaming, even another 150 euro could get you a much better system.

I selling a rig with far superior specs to this in a week's time I you're interested, for about 420 - 450 euro. Both PSU and graphics card will be brand new. It would be a lot faster for gaming. I am including keyboard and USB network key in the price.

If you like, I can throw the specs up here and others can let you know if it's a good buy or not.

Note that this rig will be quite a bit more powerful than the rig suggested here (and will come with Windows, as I have it on my HDD), better quality PSU, a dedicated graphics card, an ovefclockable CPU (I am including an aftermarket cooler too so you can run it cooler and faster) etc. It's a good buy ;)

I have to agree, you should have a look at some second hand PCs or parts. Buy carefully - don't get a shoddy PSU and end up paying for it later, but if you can fit in something with a newish dedicated card, it would be a lot better.

The cool thing is, my rig's PSU is brand new, and a new 7770, too ----> plug!

Phenom II x4 925 (2.8Ghz) + Hyper 212 cooler (can be overclocked to 3.6Ghz or higher easily enough)

7200RPM Samsung HDD 500GB not sure of model can check if you'd like

    4GB-Kit GEIL Value PC3-10600 DDR3-1333 CL9 (4 GB of RAM)

NZXT Gamma Tower pure black (+ 3 arctic cooling f12 case fans)

Saitek Gamers' Keyboard not sure of model. Can check. Nothing special, just standard keyboard (membrane) with nice wrist rest and backlighting.

LG DVD drive. Almost never used.

*brand new* corsair cx430 power supply and an MSI 7770. I am receiving these in an order tomorrow.

If you want a USB network key I can give you that, just a cheap yoke though so no promises with that ;) my HDD has Windows installed on it for that particular motherboard, but I don't have a key or anything to give you if you have to reinstall. I don't know what you want to do there (do you have a copy of Windows, can you get one?).

This rig would perform solidly in any modern game at 1080p, allowing decent frames at medium settings. The CPU cooler will allow you a nice overclock on the CPU and will be a bit quieter than the stock one. The PSU is of good quality, and should last you another build. 3 case fans, so you should have reasonable cooling.

Let me know what you think. Others can comment on this build and give advice on it. I will be selling for about 420 euro as this will be a total build/everything out together etc plus keyboard. Am willing to budge a bit on price. Not too much though, as I did personally invest in the new PSU and graphics card. It's a good build for the money IMO.

7770 is a good card, maxes out some games bioshock infinite, dishonored, Fifa 13 at 1080P. Then other games like far cry 3 mostly high with a couple of medium settingswith no Aa at 1080P. It is a good card

Seems like a good build at first glance. A proper heatsink in a build is nice. I suppose if I was to buy it, the first thing I'd ask about is the motherboard.

If you installed windows on yourself but just lost the key, you can retrieve it with software.

I can try that this weekend with build. I have two windows keys but one is being used in my current build.

What should be known about the motherboard? I used it for just over 2 years. The card and power supply are brand new, that's a good positive, especially for the power supply, which will last a good few years, and into your next build too I imagine.

Well I just meant from the point of view like is it AM3 or AM3+. I suppose that era didn't have AM3+, but you've still got reasonably good options, especially since FM2 will be thrown out soon with FM2+ on the way. :-/
Yeah, the card and PSU should last a while alright. Certainly better than what you get from the integrated solutions.

    MSI 770-G45, AM3

Whoops, thought I had added this in my original post.
