    Hi all,

I'm an Irish man and have been in a relationship with a Brazilian girl who has been studying here (on a student visa) for the past 3 years and has just successfully graduated.
She has only worked for a short period of time in the state while she was studying (i.e. a few months)

We have been in a relationship for the last 13 months and are considering getting married soon. We have been considering doing this for a short while now.

Her visa is due to expire in about 12 months and I'm wondering what implications marriage will have on her visa?
I would also like to know what would be the best way to go about getting married: in Ireland, in another EU state, or outside the EU? and what would be involved in this.

(Right now she has a stamp 2 on her visa)

    Thanks

    J

my cousin married a non eu national in a non-eu country and he was granted entry and dole instantly.

if you marry an irish citizen and prove its genuine, you will have no issues.

    Check out this thread:

It's primarily about defacto applications but also info in there about spousal. For both types of visa the proof of relationship is the main thing and there is loads of advice on there as to what types of proof are well received by INIS. Also proof your can support yourselves is very important as initially your wife won't be permitted to work full time until the spousal visa and stamp 4 are granted.

It's probably easier if you get married either here or Brazil from a paperwork point of view.

The lucky thing for you is that since your fiancé is here already on a valid visa it is much easier to transfer her visa to a spousal visa once you are married.
