M y husband was given a wrong tablet from the pharmacy .He is a 45 year old man,he had a germ cell tumor 10 yrs ago. After his first chemo session he suffered a heart attack. He is on medication daily since aspirin zoton lipitor. He was meant to get zoton 30mg and received zispin 30mg. He took this tablet for almost 3 weeks with very bad side effects hallucinations, eye and feet hopping, extreme tiredness, mood swings, unsteady, banging into walls/doors.He thought it was a generic tablet and when he couldn't understand why he felt so unwell he returned to pharmacy to say the generic tablet replacing zoton didn't suit him.The staff in pharmacy were shocked and immediately took him to back of shop and were all apologetic saying a mix up happened. They then made next error they gave him zoton and took zispin off him.(should have come off gradually we have been told since). Then 6 days later still feeling unwell he has a stroke and is hospitalized for a week.He loses his speech initially, but now 3 weeks later it has improved 80% He suffers fro aphasia and is doing well but our conversations are now more difficult as he gets lost and it is frustrating for us both.

All the family are so angry that this happened as he should never have been placed on this due to his heart attack previously.Of course no one in hospital will give us answers just saying it may have been cause but wont tie themselves down

.This tablet was given by mistake on 24th May and taken that evening..

Returned 12th June to pharmacy. .

18th june suffers stroke at home.

So what do we do now? Is there a way of proving that this caused this as he was unwell immediately after taking it.

We have closed part of our business at present and before long money will join list of issues.
