Does anyone know if you can hire a barman/woman for a housrparty and how much it costs?

You can, there's a few sites on Google e.g. http://privatewaiter.com/bartender%20hire.htm

You can also go to a cocktail bar and ask the staff there if they will work for you.

Prices vary depending on how good the bartender is and how many hours you need him/her. A good cocktail barman working a 7-8 hour shift could be looking at walking away with €160+ (and that's the cheaper ones). This is what you need to consider if you expect them to give up a nights work in the bar to come to your party.

I'll do it for 80 euro and free booze :pac: Have shaker, will travel :D

You can hire them through companies, but they will cost more than just finding a decent bartender in a bar close to you. Presumably though you don't care so much about cost, given you'll also be paying for the ice, alcohol, mixers, garnishes, puree's, glassware.

For just the bartender though, make sure they can actually do cocktails and offer them 12 an hour cash in hand and you supply the booze they use. for 6 hours and 200 cocktails, I'd expect it would cost you 250 for alcohol, 80 for mixers (unless you want him using fresh juice in which case.... ouch, 20 in garnishes and fruit, 15 in pureés (don't use real strawberrys for frozen daiquiri's far more expensive and they are what everyone will want. Not sure how much glassware would be.

All in you're looking at the bones of 500 for an evening of it. That's not including beer, I was just looking at this from the cocktail side of things.
