Hi everyone currently looking at buying a gaming rig for the upcoming games of this year, hope you can all help a bunch and I can discuss etc here. Not the best with all the parts etc but I'm hoping you up to scratch people cam explain to me. So here goes, thanks in advance!

    1. What is your budget? £700

    2. What will be the main purpose of the computer? Gaming (BF4, Arma III, DCS A-10, DCS World, GTA V, Elder Scrolls Online, etc)

    3. Do you need a copy of Windows? Yes, Windows 7.

    4. Can you use any parts from an old computer? No

    5. Do you need a monitor? Yes

5b. If no, what resolution is your current monitor and do you plan to upgrade in the near future?

    6. Do you need any of these peripherals? Yes, need keyboard, mouse, speakers etc

    7. Are you willing to try overclocking? Unsure, first build and I am afraid of messing up

    8. How can you pay? Debit Card

    9. When are you purchasing? Around 3 weeks time

    10. If you need help building it, where are you based? Scotland

So yes that's what I require, I realistically want a PC that can run games like mentioned above on ultra settings, but I would only be playing it on say medium for best fps and smoothness of game play! If the £700 budget won't cut it then I'll wait another month to knock it up another 500 to make it £1300. If you can't fit in the monitor, keyboard mouse etc into my budget then that's ok, I have an old one which should do until I get another wage next month then I'll upgrade those things. Thanks a lot in advance guys, a lot of money putting in your hands!
    Cheers

1200-1300 EURO will be the sweet spot seeing as you need all thee peripherals (mouse/keyboard/monitor/Windows licence/speakers), these will eat up a lot of your budget. That's about 1000 pounds. I'd say wait 'til you have about a thousand for the best value, best bang for buck.

Is £700 enough for just the rig itself then? Because I do have a 22 inch monitor and old keyboard mouse I can use whilst I wait a month to upgrade them?

750w is waaay overkill. A PSU for half the price would be more than enough, even for a more powerful card (that's really expensive for a 7850 by the way, where are you buying from?).

The RAM is also a tad overpriced.

No point going Haswell, I wouldn't pair a 7850 with one either. Motherboard doesn't need to be that expensive either. Gigabyte's z87x-D3H is performing well for everybody and can be got for 135 from Hardwareversand.

All in all, not a good build, IMO, money spent I the wrong places (putting Haswell water cooled with a 7850??).

OP, 700, if you really wanted to buy now, and it included a Windows license, best value would be at a ya more than 700, maybe 800. These are estimates, by the way, I am at work and don't have time (also on phone so awkward) to spec a full build

whats wrong with psu and cooler...
i had h50 on my 2500k and was good enough...
he can go for 2500k but its the same price range as haswell so...

    check dabs.ie for prices...

    EDIT

he can go for h80 but would cost him more

I already pointed out what's wrong with PSU. Overpriced and unnecessary. A Haswell/Ivy, even OCED plus 7850 won't pull much more than 300w under load, so why get 750w?

Grab a hyper 212 and 3570k, or a macho 02 if you must go 4670k.

    Buy from Hardwareversand.de. Much cheaper.

Right I'll leave it until next month where I will have a budget of around 1400 providing I don't spend the monies haha!

This is for a rig, monitor (decent size not too big though), keyboard, mouse, and a hotas warthog joystick for the gaming needs!

Now can anyone help me fix a rig with this budget that will run all the games mentioned at first on high - ultra settings? I won't be using ultra but around medium or high for quality of game play. I know it's a lot I'm asking but it's my first gaming PC and I want to get it right! Big step for me and I don't want to get something I'll have to update at the end of the blooming year! Thanks chaps, all posts are helpful and I'm beginning to pick things up
