I have a Labrador bitch that I've had for approx 4 years, she was a great fowl dog. Approx 3 months ago she had a big fight with another dog. Her chest was ripped up and she suffered serious cuts bruises to one of her front legs/shoulders.

Now she has a fairly bad limp and she's not up to much exercise. I've had her examined by a vet who's opinion was lots of surgery!...I've considered breeding her as she was a great dog with excellent pedigree. FTCH Theoweir neutron, FTCH Ulstare Oak.....

The problem I have is would potential buyers of pups be put off because of the mothers limping and obvious injuries......

I shouldn't think it would matter to the pups as its a superficial thing more than genetic problem. Just wondering what kinda dog did she fight with to tear her up? I've a lab bitch so just curious!

Neighbours sheep dog came on to my land. By the time I got there my dog was on top of the other dog and had it pinned to the ground by the throat, but the damage was already done by then. Blood everywhere... not a pretty sight. If I'd have known then how my dog would have ended up I wished I'd left mine to finish the neighbours off

Get a vet to hip score your bitch, then potential buyers of pups will have proof of a good breeding bitch and pups will not inherit a limp caused by injury. The better the hip score, the better the pups, the higher the price…

+1 I don't see a problem and would not have any problem with your Dog, it's just a Dog fight he got caught up in,I would buy one of the Pups IF I was going to buy a pup but I have a Springer and she is just 2.best of luck should you go that road.

As with all dealings if you are honest and tell the truth no one should have any problems buying a pup from you

Once you use a gud sire , and explain the reason u breeding her is because of the injury and to keep a pup for ur self , then ulstar oak and theorweir back rounds are very sought after !

    Where u based !
