Hey everyone!

1. What is your budget? $1000

2. What will be the main purpose of the computer? Gaming (Payday2, GTA V, Elder Scrolls Online, etc)

3. Do you need a copy of Windows? Yes, Windows 7.

4. Can you use any parts from an old computer? No

5. Do you need a monitor? No

5b. If no, what resolution is your current monitor and do you plan to upgrade in the near future? 1680x1050, undecided on whether or not I will upgrade soon

6. Do you need any of these peripherals? Yes, need keyboard, mouse, speakers etc

7. Are you willing to try overclocking? Unsure, first build and I am afraid of messing up

8. How can you pay? Credit card

9. When are you purchasing? Within the next week or so

10. If you need help building it, where are you based? No thanks

Thanks for that! This might be a very stupid question but the monitor I have has a built in DVD player, so will I need a DVD drive?

Only reason you would need a DVD Drive would be installing programs from DVD (e.g. Windows) or if you buy games on disc.

Is that a monitor or a tv?

It sounds like a tv, so the DVD drive will only be good for viewing DVD videos. So it probably wouldn't be of any use for installing programs, burning DVDs etc. That said, you can get away without having a DVD drive these days - windows can be installed from a USB stick and there's a wide range of programs digitally distributed.

Yeah I thought as much, was just being hopeful. Unfortunately I have a few things on disc I'll need to install so I'll just get the DVD drive. And yes it is a tv, not a monitor.
