Tunnel near Loretto school Dalkey

I had always heard of this tunnel through the grapevine and last week finally found it. It is down the strange lane beside the loretto sports grounds, if you go down far enough you can find it mostly bricked up.
I being too much a wimp clearly didn't try to climb in... but was wondering if any brave souls out there had? Where does it go? And how far does it run?
So...

You get to the end, and to the right we have the bricked up doorway/tunnel:
