    Hi,
I'm going into my 3rd year. Well done in getting through. My experience is based on a mature student and therefore may have a different dynamic than a student from the Leaving Cert only CAO application process. The first year is very orientated on the fundamentals of the three science subjects: Physics, chemistry and Biology. For me, it was a challenge because I had no chemistry or biology subjects from prior Leaving cert.
If you have biology or chemistry then you will find first year very do-able. The building technology and physics for some was a challenge because most students come to the course with biology/chemistry background. However, the building technology lecturer is so supportive and makes the subject easier to grasp. In short, the course is very diverse. Because the class has 32 students, it tends to be a little bit more close knit that other courses in other universities/colleges that have larger numbers. The Cathal Brugha Street campus is dated, cramped and busy compared to DIT Kevin St or Aungier st.
