Moving Plants - or just leave?

Folks I have a couple of plants that over the course of time have gotten buried at the back of the border which really could do with moving.
Red hot poker and astilibe being just two - I'd like to move them to another space in the garden and more to the front of the flower beds. One of them is right back behind a tree.
Is it too early/late in the year for this?

both too early and too late, depending on how you look at it; you should wait till they're both dormant before moving them. mark the position of the astilbe well, as it'll die back.

Not a good idea to move them at the moment. Leave them until the leaves have died down then lift them, split them and replant. Apart from them being in full growth and flower at the moment, the weather is too warm to move them.
