The 1st official gathering of Irish owners of all classic Renault Vehicles is being organised for Sunday 25th Aug .
If you would like to take part, please meet at St. James Park, Kilkenny to attend the Kilkenny Motor Club's annual show . This will be a light hearted get together of Renault enthusiasts with the intention of making it a more regular occurrence.. Help and advice is being provided by the Renault Owners Club in the UK.
A gathering of all Renaults in Ireland is long overdue.
For more information or to satisfy your curiosity , please PM me or see the same ad on Donedeal Classic Section.
Places will be limited so need confirmed as soon as possible. The aim would be to have 1 of each popular model sold in Ireland at least on display as well as a few usual models. Any model up to the mid 90s.
Please, please help me make this happen . Please pass the word around. There are many owners who don't use an computer etc that may not see this ad.

John, best of luck with the gathering. Quite partial to Renault 4s, classic Alpine coupes and 16s myself. For what its worth, setting up a facebook page would probably help you a good deal - at least with owners who are on social media.

It worked great for us when we were organising our second BMW Classics Open Day last month - a one-make classic car show.

    Very easy to do.

Hopefully I'll be around then (wife wants to go on hols sometime in Aug!) as I am a big fan of Renaults. I second setting up a facebook page too.

I really hope I can make it work. Biggest problem is numbers. Realistically if I get 10 I'll be happy. 20 would be a squeeze.
I really want the following though
    4,5, 9(sorted)12,16,18,19,20,25 & Fuego

Rarer now would be Dauphine, 8,10,14,15,17,21 & 30.

Please pass the word around, but I would have to have numbers

    Great idea!
I don't have my vintage Renaults with me now but happy to tag along with a modern one :)

Another idea is to ask Irish Vintage Scene magazine to put a mention in their whats on pages. In every edition they have a few pages dedicated to whats on on what day.

If you set up a facebook page please let us know so we can like it/share it!

There are the models you mentioned in Ireland its just making owners aware that a get together is happening.

I suppose I'd better bring the 19 - count me in!

I have contacted Irish vintage Scene but they say too late for publication but they will plug on their Facebook page.
So when they do, may I ask everyone to share it.
    I have approx 15 confirmations. I don't have a 12 or 16 yet which I really need.

I presume Mr. Roddy from Louth will be there?
I saw his mint cars - R20, R25 (ex-Bill Cullen V6) and Safrane - at the Terenure Show.

I'm not to keen on the 'Gathering' part of the name - 'Renault Round-up' , 'Renault Rallye Ireland','Renault Revival' ...... just don't want to give any credence to the govt's. gathering thing, every tourist I've talked to had never heard of the gathering ( the name was robbed off a Kiwi event from the 90's :o ), but in Jan 14 they'll announce it 'was a great success':rolleyes:

Anyone from Cork heading there ?
I don't have any of mine to bring up and don't want to drive up in a modern motor but would be happy going up with a Renault enthousiat from the area going there (and sure will share petrol, etc).
