    Not very helpful snubbleste!

The HSF provide cash plans, which means they will give you an amount back per day spent in hospital, but it won't cover the actual cost of your hospital stay. It also includes some money back for visits to GP's, consultant and physio and personal accident cover. It's not for everyone. If you need full health insurance then take a look at www.hia.ie which will allow you to compare health insurance plans and cash plans too. There's also a section under the Consumer Information section which will explain cash plans etc.
