    hi all

got engaged recently and looking to get married in maynooth- but haven't been in any of the churches for years (since my college days) and looking for some feedback before I head out there to look around- what is the main parish church like these days? As I remember it was a lovely church but not many photos online... and also does anyone know if you can get married in big chapel on campus? Haven't contacted the college yet on this.... are there any other RC churches in Maynooth?? would love some feedback! :)

The main RC church in Maynooth is nice, definitely popular for weddingss. As for the college chapel I'm not sure, you'd probably be better off ringing the college directly. The nicest in Maynooth IMO is Ladychapel on the Rathcoffey Road, the only drawback is limited parking.

I know when I rang last year you couldn't get married in the seminary church unless you sent a letter with a very good reason for getting married there. I was also told ''I went to college there'' was not a good enough reason so I didn't bother sending the letter . However, I've since heard that they have started allowing weddings, having realised how much money they are missing out on!

    Hi cookiecakes!
Very interesting... I just remember that Church being fabulous, went to a few of the choir ceremonies there when in College, and we have already though about having some pictures taken on the grounds of the college anyway..... if they have started allowing weddings I best give them a shout!! I didn't want to bother in case it was a lost cause.

I do wonder what a "good reason" would have been if going to college wasn't enough????
