EDIT: It's not actually from the official fantasy premier league site, i thought it was. and has since backtracked and said he meant to say it went live on july 17th last year. so have no official date for when the 13/14 season goes live. apologies. I've since unfollowed the attention seeking c**t!

9 days to go people, enjoy your free time while you can cos soon enough you're gonna to be stuck to your computer screen drawing up draft 404 of the season only to turn on sky sports news and see ronaldo is after re-signing for united and you need to make room for him.

the date is according to the fantasy premier league site on twitter.

and the ronaldo bit is some unrealistic wishful thinking from a united fan.

I'm really looking forward to the new season and making that initial first team which will be in no way similar to the final draft come 17 August. Not long left to wait now thankfully.

yeah same here, i love logging on for the first time and scrolling through the prices, picking that initial team and realising you only have 11 million left to spend and still need to pick 4 defenders and a keeper so you might want to cut back a bit on the 3 high priced mids.
then go bargain hunting and pick who's going to get you ahead of everyone.

last year my great find was ian harte :o (i got him back later in the season at 3.8 and he did ok for a while)

Sent them an email last week and got this reply yesterday

    Hi Daniel,

Unfortunately there is no set date for the beginning of next season yet however it will be before the beginning of the next Premier League season. Please check in with the website on a regular basis to stay up to date.

yes you are right, i thought it was the official FPL page but it's not. he now says he was referring to when it went live in 2012, i've edited my first post in this as there is no date for when it's going live.

There was a rumour going around at the Mickey Turner Appreciation Society's AGM last week that he was rising to a place among his peers at a steady 6.0. However I lobbied this as it clearly wasn't high enough. If Baines ended last year at 7.8 then Mickey T would surely need to be 8.0

Long story short it was an administrative error that put him at 6.0 and will now be placed around 4.5 depending on inflation. Strange they'd lower his price rather than raise it but we now have ourselves a Michu-esque bargain on our hands.

Don't think you could do it, I reckon it's harder to kick than heroin, at least they have methadone, Saturday afternoons yourself and Triggs would be hopping over farmers fences and circumnavigating County Limerick, then you'd have to do it all over again sunday and Monday evening.

Well, which players will be changed position, Bale, Michu and Coleman are three possibilities, anyone else to become a live prospect by moving to defence or midfield.

Had Coleman not been reclassified as a midfielder from his initial defender position at some stage?

    David Luiz maybe?

    David Luiz maybe?

With Jose back, will he play him in midfield though?

Bryan Ruiz, Craig Gardener, Danny Rose, Callum Mcmanaman if somebody signs him, Gouffran should all be contenders...maybe even Phil Jones?

That's serious! The only thing that makes me want to play again is a mini-league for 600-700 euro that I win pretty comfortably each year. That's a lot of money and usually pays for the hols and a few tech treats (iPad last year).

As a game, it takes too much time out of my schedule. Am running 3-4 nights a week now and it's taking the time I usually dedicate to FPL.

I don't think you'll ever win the New York marathon, stick to what you're good at:pac:

Ah I can understand completely and I know I couldn't do it and I don't even have the money leagues to contend for.

You'd certainly be missed around these parts with all your insight and tips and #Justice campaigns :pac: I owe a lot to you for being comfortable taking points hits too. Sure keep up that league anyway if you're winning it handy enough and lets us know how're you're getting on.

Then soon you'll be sucked right back in.....Mwhahaha :)

When you see me finishing first with a time of 2:01:21, while simultaneously making my transfers on the phone, you'll be eating those words :D

Pleased to hear the running is going well. I'm at the same myself. It's unbelievably addictive when ya get going!

The only thing really bringing me back is my friends needing me to setup a team to run our league as I'm the admin.

My feeling is I won't take it half as seriously this year. My winnings last year were just over 1k, less than 50% of what I was taking in most previous seasons.

Added to that, I had a poor season IMO but still managed to finish in the top 10k globally and win the three leagues that won me cash prizes at a canter.

Therefore the willingness to push myself just isn't there when I know I can afford to take less interest and win the leagues I need to anyway, plus have a respectable global finish.

    i've enjoyed the break.

the lack of money leagues means I don't know how seriously I'll continue to take it. last year I just wanted to do well, because I knew I could play the game well if I put a little time in. doing that year in, year out without anything on the line? hmmm. we'll see.

i'm looking forward to it starting again though. i've no doubt my interest will be peaked as people play around with their teams at the start of the season.
