This may well have been 171's last foray on the mainline, the 141/181 class being retired a month later. As you can hear she is struggling to lift a train of Cravens that would have been a piece of cake to here in olden days.

jesus she does sound aweful.

I'm surprised that 171 lasted to the end. She sounded terrible on the IRRS railtour with 152 and eventually failed at Thurles. 152 sounded perfectly fine though.
