    Hi there

Just been reading the information on the jobs plus scheme on the jobplus.ie website but I am not sure what to make of it

It says you register online to see if you are eligible for the scheme but then I don't understand what happens if you are approved for the scheme. How are you supposed to apply for these types of jobs? I can't see anywhere on the website where you can apply for them. Or does the social welfare office send applications to the employers?

    Very confused:confused:

Anyone got any further updates on this?

Employers apply for it. It's not a job matching service. It is to incentivise employers to employ from the live register.

I was wondering about the same thing. How does it work? Do you tell your employer on the interview that you might be eligible for the JobsPlus Scheme? or how would they know?

The employer gets a payment from department of social protection for employing you.
The amount depends on your skills and experience. So if you're on the high skill level, the employer will get paid from 7500 to 10000 over the course of few months while employing you.
Basically the social welfare department pays a percentage of your wage to keep you employed and off the live register.
    Hope this helps
    P.S
Once you get the official form back after filling information in for the jobsplus, you can staple a copy to your cv application letter to entice the future employer to take you on.

Just to clarify the amount does not depend on your skills and experience. The amount depends on the length of time the employee has been on the live register. http://www.welfare.ie/en/Pages/JobsPlus-Employers.aspx
