Right there is your main problem.. drink not only drains your money but your motivation, confidence and general sense of well being.

Try giving up the drink for a few months... save whatever money you would normally drink at the weekend and spend it on an evening class or something similarly constructive.

figure out a job you love (no matter what it is) and try pursue it. give up the drink....also exercise releases endorphins among other things that make you healthy and happier

then do something about it! you acknowledge the fact, now act on it and stop feeling sorry for yourself

if you need mental help, feeling depressed etc, seek help, theres lots of sources out there to get you back on your feet, just google them
seek a professional who can help you

need a job? search for one...endlessly! getting a job isnt easy

stop drinking, go to aa meetings if need be...no shame in it

at the end of the day, its up to you! you need to act on your own life, sitting here on boards isnt going to fix it for you, you have to do that...take action...any action, even just staying sober...or going to night classes like the other poster said

do volunteer work if youre not ready for paid work...just anything! do anything!

keep a blog track your progess...or just post back here when youve made a start on something you want to do

its either that or stay in the position your in
