What is people's take on this dummy line-up stuff? Kildare done it last week and Cork on Sunday. Personally I think it's a pointless effort unless forced through injury of course, but as a 'tactical' move is this not just nonsense? A good team will just play their own game regardless of opposition personnel or am I wrong?

Kilkenny done it. Cork seem to be at it quite a bit. Kildare do it.

It's poor form tbh. I always hope the team that does it loses

Like many things these days - a needless overcomplication of a simple game.

There was already a thread on this.

Peter Canavan takes it to a new extreme in Fermanagh. They even do dummy pre gamel parades!

I don't know about all that stuff, look at Dub hurlers, they just went out and hurled, and played some of the best hurling I've seen in years. Sometimes all these tactics etc can do more harm than good.

I don't really see the problem with it. If you don't know who you will be makring, I'd imagine it's more difficult to prepare.
As long as the programme has the right number linked to the right players, it's not a big deal.

Couldn't a team just list their starting 15 and give out jersey numbers in alphabetical order, that way nobody knows how they might line out?
