Don't know if a thread was started, but i seen the handicaps for this are high seen lots of 4 and 5's in the draw

Alan Lowry, Shanes brother is playing, 73 for him today. Stuart Grehan also playing, I reckon he has a great chance, playing brilliant stuff right now, don't think he has finished his first round yet.

Think the cut off was 3.2

It's played over the two courses so the field is double that of the other championships, hence the higher cut off.

€50 entrance fee is good value to play those 2 courses

Some serious scoring on the Valley Links ^^

Athlone Kelan McDonagh in with a 71 and he's hardly playing any golf. Impressive stuff.

Whats the story with the way the draw is done ? I hardly recognise anyone playing on the Dunluce and the Valley Links is a veritable who's who of Irish golf!

The lower half of the draw always play the Valley first in the North, to the best of my knowledge

So suffice to say,I was out on the Dunluce yesterday! Weather absolutely spectacular up here but the rough is extremely punishing. We were out there for 5hrs and 35mins simply because there were provisionals being hit and searches for balls happening willy nilly. There were ball spotters on holes 1 and 2 but couldv done with them everywhere tbh.

Lost 2 balls myself which cost me a quad and a triple on my way to an 83. V disappointing but Im not last! My playing partner said the course was much more playable last year as spectators at the Irish Open had trampled down the rough the previous week, but I played the North the previous 2 years ('10 and '11) and it's never played this difficult judging by scores

Oh well, playing Rathmore at 10am, hoping for a bit better!

2nd round scores, not completed though due to sea mist.

Sea mist finally cleared this morning here, though its that far behind it might have to overrun by a day

I think they have already said it will be running into Saturday already.
