Just about to tackle the percolation /septic tank element of the self build.

a septic tank along with peat filters on a polishing filter have been specified and to be supplied by the leading peat supplier in the country or equivalent (don't think i can mention their company name??).

does anyone have any other alternative suppliers or alternative systems:rolleyes:?

got a quote for the peat filters and €5,000 seems very dear for 3 modules!!!

First of all you need to check the planning permission and see if the system specified on the planning application HAS to be installed or whether a similar type or specification can be substituted.

a similar or equivalent system can be installed as per the planning permission. any suggestions?

There are lots on the market, but you haven't said which the planning permission states you must be in compliance with:

    1. SR6 1991,
    2. EPA Technical Manual 2009,
    3. EPA Code of Practice,
    4. Agrement Board Specification,
    5. EN Certification.

or whether it is more than one of the above. Also, does your permission state that you will need certification from an approved site assessor for the completed system?
