Trying to sell my 06 Jetta tdi ,only discovered over the weekend that the flywheel needs replacing ..

How much should this cost ? anybody recommend a really good mechanic around West Cork/Cork city

Bought the car from a main dealer 5 months ago ,and the noise was there (quieter than now) had it in for a few services and they never mentioned it

Even though it was getting louder, Any recourse ?

    D

    warranty?
No, the Sale of Goods and Supply of Services Act. The dealer must offer the car for sale ensuring it meets the three criteria:
    • of merchantable quality (fit to be sold, no pre-existing faults)
    • suitable for purpose (must work as a car for a substantial period)
    • as described (including oral assurances, internet ads, etc).

On the 5 speed models it should be possible to get it done for around €750 using OEM parts. That should cover a 4 parts Sachs or LUK kit (flywheel, clutch disc, pressure plate and release bearing) plus labour and new gearbox oil. Solid flywheel conversion kits are a bit cheaper but I wouldn't recommend them personally.
