Hi, I've offered to help gather old mobiles for someone who advertised advising they could get an IPad for a sick child in exchange for them. I now see other similar ads - are these genuine ? or is it a scam?:( Hate even asking but would hate to get these for anything other than a genuine charity case. Cheers

When I worked in a school they took in old handsets for the Jack and Jill Foundation. Probably best to stick to something genuine like that.

Thanks for that - have done in past and will again. Still don't know if this was genuine but despite several contacts to this person advising I had collected a good number of phones there was no follow up to collect!! Just that it seemed genuine, it was local to me and I felt I could help- pity if there are genuine appeals such as this and people are turned off.

Hi , had a google and found this :

Not sure if you get he ipad or they get it to give to an autistic kid - of your choosing or not.
I'm not sure about that site. Maybe they just need a website re-haul but I was a bit suspicious, found a better version of the site here www.autismireland.ie linking to the 1st Url, and mentioning the scheme. Maybe this is the one you were told about?

If you still want to give your phone to a good cause/charity I would gratefully accept for my son with Down Syndrome...
